This rating provides a means of comparing swims done across the masters swimming age groups. A record curve is created using a least squares parabolic curve fit to the masters world records (SCM, LCM) or national records (SCY), from age 25 to 80. The rating is the ratio of the record curve time at the swimmers age divided by the swimmers time, times one hundred.
